Wimbledon and Banstead parkruns

I love these two parkruns.  They’re both local, they’re both friendly, they’re both two laps, and they both feature trees and trails.  Wimbledon is flat, Banstead has a hill and a half but as the Banstead hill comes with a long sweeping downhill, it’s still fast and fun to run.

At parkrun o’clock, I was at Wimbledon, but as a volunteer not a runner.  Lots of familiar faces, including Bushy regular and parkrun tourist Philip Williamson.  Also visiting were Fay and Charles from Heaton Park and a handful of (non-running) policemen from Cheshire who formed an energetic cheering section until their duties took them off elsewhere.

At parkrun o’clock plus 12 hours, I joined Plustenner and Marathon Mercer at Banstead Woods parkrun for a night time jaunt to test out our head torches before Thunder Run.  The torches were great and the company was better, which bodes well for next weekend.
