Day 6…

…and a change of article.  I noticed something strange today.  Whereas I used to say I was going for a run, today I said I was going for my run.  I think that the idea that the run is no longer optional is beginning to sink in.

Drizzle today, so I kept mainly to the pavements.  7.5km of them, which for me is a long run.  My kit just about kept the rain off me, but if I’m going to run in real rain then I’ll need an upgrade.  Or I’ll need to join a gym, and be one of the January Resolutioners driving everyone to distraction.

My husband is working from home today…or at least he would be, if the cat would move off his desk and stop playing with his biro.  Oh good.  The cat has moved off his desk and left his biro, in favour of my keyboaaaaaarrrrrrrddddd.

  1. Kit upgrade can be expensive… could always try running with a brolly ;-).
Only another 25 days to go xx

Or maybe I should just time my runs for the breaks in the rain. After all, it can’t rain for 24 hours solid, can it? Mind you, according to Flanders and Swann, “June just rains and never stops, thirty days and spoils the crops”, so I’ll need to investigate brolly running before Juneathon.

  2. My family know ask ‘ have you been for your run yet?’ rather than ‘oh wow you went for a run!’

It’s great that the runs are becoming more routine – there has to be a point where you’ve got so far into the month that there’s absolutely no way you can pull out! As for the kit you can usually pick up really cheap hi-viz rain coats from SportsDirect… I know it’s a horrible store but there are some bargains in there. 🙂

Yes, yes, yes – I noticed that today!! I said my run, hubby said your run, even someone at working said how’s YOUR running going rather than how’s THE running going. Great…just need it to materialise in 4 stone weight loss now haha!!
Did you stay up and watch the Ashes last night? I’m off tomorrow so am being a glory hunter and staying up til we lift them! Suffice to say I’ll be doing a late run tomorrow!
BTW 7.5k awesome – how long did that take?

I did stay up to watch the Ashes. Wasn’t it marvellous? Three innings victories etc etc. I’m not sure how long the 7.5k took, as I don’t have a watch and rarely notice what time I go out / get back. Looking at my playlist, about an hour.

Blimey that’s a really good time. Well done.
Ashes were awesome – we had a little dance around the lounge – our poor neighbours!
