Shake, rattle and roll

My training plan, such as it is, called for a forty minute form run today.  I actually did a slightly shorter run, caught the bus and then tacked a final five minutes on at the end.  The whole run was accompanied by a strange rattling sound that I couldn’t place.

I’m used to the sound of my reflective stars shaking as I run along, and I’m used to the sound of my hair shushing from side to side over the top of my back pack but the rattling was new.

Turns out that I’d forgotten to take a bottle of painkillers out of my bag that I’d put in on Saturday to stave off a killer headache.

As for the rolling, I think that my left ankle found every uneven pavement there was, and a couple of kerbstones besides.  Memo to self…watch where you tread!

PS My sympathies to Shazruns and other early morning runners.  While I revelled in the additional hour of daylight at the tail end of the day, I did spare a thought for those runners who will have been plunged back into darkness by the clock change.

Didn;t think about those poor people at the start of the day in darkness! Good run…is this the start of your 10k training plan?
