Aaaaaaargh!

I’ve just signed up for a 2.25mile swim in the Thames in July.  What was I thinking?

ooh, for a minute there i read 25 mile swim, presume that would be from somewhere near Putney out to sea ! Where are you doing that? sounds like a brilliant idea.

  2. Love it – where’s the swim?

    (I also read 25 miles – blimeys)

  3. Maggiee says:

    Wow… I’m in awe already! I can’t even swim 2.5 metres!

  4. You must have been thinking, “ooooo, I haven’t drank any scuzzy water for a little while, how can I rectify such a situation?”

  5. jogblog says:

Blimey, last time I went swimming I couldn’t manage 25 metres, let alone 2.5 miles. Good luck!

Have just clicked the link on your blog to the event – looks fabulous. Loved the bit about ‘meandering past Thames Ditton’! Other than seaside dips I have never done an open water swim (well, not on purpose anyway!) but am now wondering if I should catch the wave.

You should definitely try open water swimming…but beware, you may get hooked. Events themselves can be a bit of a scrum, especially at the start, but swimming in a lake is wonderful. No adjusting your pace to other swimmers like in a pool. Bliss.
