Wet Wet Wet

One way or another, it has been a very wet day.  I’d been vaguely contemplating going to the lake this morning to do some open water swimming, but I didn’t wake up until mid-morning, which rather put the kibosh on that.

So instead, I decided to go to the 4pm adult only swimming session at my local pool.  As that’s only about 1.5 miles from my house, I decided to run there (in the rain), swim (50 lengths) and then run home (in the rain).

Well, I didn’t decide on the rain part, that just happened, but you get my drift.

A very wet dualathlon. Nicely done.

Good effort, I was just wondering if anyone had braved it out in the rain. I’m currently toying with the idea of running through the downpour but I’ve just got out of a lovely warm bath and its not appealing.

  4. Wet here too…and I CBA to go out again! It’ll have to wait until tomorrow now!! I’m not keen on running in the rain, makes everything squeak!

Good on you! I don’t think that I would’ve managed to run back one I’d gotten out the pool and dried off!

  6. Duathlon or Aquathlon? Must have been hard to run home in the rain once you were dry after swimming. Hardcore!

Dry after swimming? In a public pool? With changing rooms that are so hot and humid, no towels are absorbent enough? Trust me, running back in the rain was the easy bit!

  7. That’s a brick isn’t it? … A slippery one.
The weather’s been great ŭp ‘ere!

I love running in the rain, the harder its pouring the funnier I find it! Cant believe you slept till mid morning I haven’t done that in over 25 years!!!!! Must admit would be nice to do it again soon though

Today was definately lay in day. Am v impressed with the aquathon, living up to your hardcore mantle!

  10. Love running in rain. After a few miles it provides ideal camouflage for embarrassing sweat soaked run kit! Uueegh!

At least running home in the rain would help with washing away the lingering chlorine smell you get from swimming 🙂

I slept in too long too… Must be something in the air… Maybe the rain brought it in!

Well done. Hope your “adult” swim session wasn’t full of “childish” people. And by that I mean people that are complete idiots when it comes to any kind of lane-side discipline or common sense! If there were any of those people there I hope you stood your ground or that you splashed them! 🙂

I’ve had rain on my runs 3 days out of 5 so far. I don’t care for it now… tho when it’s hotter outdoors (August), I will welcome a cool rinsing then! I envy your cross-training in the pool on tops of the runs. (Sadly, I cannot swim!) Sounds like a perfect balance of musclework.
