As promised, I ran into work again this morning. Most of it felt like a hard fought plod, but at the end, I managed a short stretch that felt effortless.
I get a similar feeling at the end of most parkruns. I work my way around, but at the end, as the finish comes into sight, I seem to relax as I head for the line.
So this evening, running home, I tried to capture that ‘relax for the line’ feeling and not worry about how far I had to go. It sort of worked… though after a mile of speedy (for me) relaxed running, I was panting like a good ‘un and powerless to resist the lure of a train.
I then ran home from the station, trying to treat the full half mile in the same way.
So a 4 mile run, a mile run and a half mile run for me today. Not spectacular, but it does bring me to 71 janathon miles, which beats my effort from last year.
Yay!
Well done for passing last year’s total, that’s quite an achievement.
Nice one, full marks for effort! 🙂
Congrats on surpassing yourself ! (plus thanks for the great ‘training’ tip, geddit?)
My pleasure 😉

Great stuff, well done 🙂
Woohooo fab mileage for the month esp as you haven’t even run every day!
It’s amazing what effect long runs have on mileage.
Spectacular finish, really! WOO HOO! It’s been a pleasure “watching” (OK, reading) you 🙂
