Viceathon

This April is Viceathon. The idea is simple:

  1. choose a vice (chocolate)
  2. choose a penance (exercise)
  3. choose a challenging ratio (1 chocolate calorie (“chocal”) = 2 exercise calories (“excal”))
  4. break-even.

So, what does a ratio of 1 chocal : 2 excal mean in practice?  About 2.5miles of running for every 4 squares of Bourneville.

On the plus side, I have a marathon in my diary.

On the minus side, that only earns me one big bar of Bournville, and I’m already 12 squares through one.  And there’s Easter to consider.  Easter, with its abundance of chocolate eggs.

April 1
Chocolate in: 6 squares of Bourneville = 180 chocal = 360 excal
Exercise out: 8 miles run = 800 excal
Viceathon total c/fwd: 440 excal

April 2
Chocolate in: 6 squares of Bourneville = 180 chocal = 360 excal
Exercise out: 8 miles cycled = 400 excal
Viceathon total b/fwd: 440 excal
Viceathon total c/fwd: 480 excal

Is this carb loading or cal loading?

I’d say you’re pretty reserved with the Bourneville, if I opened one it would ALL go! Good choice though since they say dark chocolate is good for you now, so your vice is even giving you some health benefits!

I love it, but you can’t half tell that you work in a finance role 🙂

will the brackets be in red? I think I am about a a marathon of excals behind after all the fudge I scoffed on Sunday 🙂

Can I do this…For every glass of wine I have I have to make you a cup of tea or maybe even two?

If I can do it retrospectively I reckon I can be drunk for the rest of my (what would be a rather short) life!

    Just a thought 😉

Very restrained of you only eating 1 or 2 squares at a time. I have had to start buying smaller bars – the ohso chocolate is a dark probiotic chocolate that comes in bars that are only 72 calories each but the downside is you can only get it on mail order and it is hideously expensive!
