I ran my third Wimbledon parkrun yesterday. Glorious weather, lots of familiar Windmiler faces, great seeded flapjack at the finish and a Wimbledon parkrun PB*.
I followed it up this morning with a trip to Farley Heath, to run for the Windmilers in the MABAC league. As everyone who runs earns points for their club, it’s a case of the more the merrier, and a great way to dip a toe into the world of club competitions. The run itself was just under four miles**, undulating*** and varied underfoot****. And it’s all good trail training for Thunder Run.
*Apparently, I’ve improved by 282 seconds in 16 months. Yay.
** OK, pedant. Just over 3.5 miles.
*** Hilly
**** Sand, mud, grass, dirt, stile and road. This route had them all.
Well done on the PB! I was hoping to do Thunder Run this year but things put paid to that. Maybe next year when I am hardcore again.
Surviving things is also hardcore.
Is this the thunder run?

Who is your team?
It is. Team of eight, of whom I’ve parkrun with four (fortnightflo, fairweatherrunner, plustenner and marathonmercer).
well done! you sure are putting in loads of mileage 🙂
I’m not sure that 6 miles in a week can be classed as loads 😉
That’s an improvement of over a minute every 4 months (because obv you couldn’t work that out yourself) which is amazing! Well done!
