Today’s Juneathon effort was easy, because thanks to the generosity of the Bexley parkrun volunteers, 149 runners were able to take part in a special bank holiday, jubilee-themed parkrun at the stunning venue in Danson park.

As if a Monday parkrun weren’t special enough, we also had the opportunity to run the route in reverse, swapping the long but gentle uphill drag with downhill trail section for a shorter, sharper uphill with a long, sweeping downhill.

Nearly half the field was made up of regular parkrunners from other events, and there were plenty of faces that I recognised from my travels, including Reading local, Ian, who I first met at the inaugural Netley Abbey parkrun, Basingstoke locals, Chris and Linda, who I first met at the inaugural Newbury parkrun and Hampstead Heath local, Bridget, who I first met at the inaugural Elliðaárdalur parkrun.

Now, where did I put that list of Bank Holiday Tuesday parkrun events…?
