Conkers parkrun

It was Thunder Run this weekend which gave me the perfect excuse to visit Conkers parkrun.  I even managed to drag Fairweather and Plustenner along for company.

I wasn’t the only Thunder Runner slipping in a sneaky parkrun.  Also there were Soozie, an ‘athoner and Cambridge parkrun local who I stalked back in March last year, and the Huddersfield Bunnies, familiar faces from the Yorkshire Longest parkrun.

The course itself is an undulating, single lap trail run in beautiful surroundings.  The regular Conkers parkrunners say that the rain has made the last few weeks more than a touch muddy, but a week of sunshine had dried it out and we were spared the mud bath.

You might think that having Thunder Run to come later in the day would make me pootle around the parkrun at a gentle pace, but the chance to take advantage of Fairweather’s pacing was too tempting to resist, and I ran to my 5th fastest parkrun time ever.

Ooops.
