Saturday was fun. It started, as all Saturdays should, with a parkrun, continued with a spot of guided tourism and ended in the company of old friends and even older wine.
The parkrun was Finsbury, where I first met Fortnightflo and Shazruns. To my delight I had managed, at 11:30pm on Friday evening, to persuade Fortnight Flo to join me again and we happily pootled* around the two lap course, cursing at the various ups** and enjoying the various downs.
After the parkrun we made our way to St James Park tube (via Oxford Circus for a spot of shopping) where we joined Fairweatherrunner, Plustenner, Anyexcusetoeatlotsofcarbsrunner and Psycho Jog for a City Jogging Tour.
Now if you happen to follow me on twitter and you were checking your twitter feed on Thursday evening***, you may know a little bit about my feelings about mixing jogging and tourism. But apparently trying to run home while dodging groups of tourists around Hyde Park and jogging around Hyde Park with a group while doing a spot of tourism are two very different things. And the latter was really very good fun indeed.
As was the evening in the company of fine wine and even finer friends. Days really don’t get much better than this.
*Flo may have a different view of this
**But with this she will agree.

Glad you had a good day sounds fab. Can’t believe Flo did not invite me after all I am not far away!
I know! It’s just rotten of her!
Hm pootled is NOT the word I would use to describe it and despite it feeling like there are more ups than downs, my Garmin confirmed elevation lost and gained was an even 33 metres…
Tee hee. Once you’ve run Killerton with Shaz, Finsbury seems reeeeeally flat!
Running in busy streets is a sport in itself. Part netball, dodgems, murder ball and running.
Wow that sounds AMAZING!! 🙂 Looking at intersting places and having a run at the same time? win-win!
