If a runner falls in a forest and no one is around to hear her, does she make a sound?

This one certainly did.  A very rude sound which turned the air blue.  Fortunately, there was no one else around to hear.

Tonight’s run was one of those that had all the right ingredients – new trails, forest, good weather, comfortable kit, interesting brief – but somehow didn’t quite work.

I got into a rhythm…and then realised that I’d left my inhaler in the car.

I got into a rhythm…and then tripped over a tree root.

I got into a rhythm…and then inhaled a fly.

I got into a rhythm…and then ran out of path and ended up walking through brambles.

I got into a rhythm…and then had to stop to take a midge out of my eye.

I got into a rhythm…and then had to stop to go around a fallen tree.

Oh well.  The forest was lovely, and makes a nice addition to my list of trails-that-I-know-about.  Thank you, Mike, for the recommendation.

which begs the question, if a runner falls in the forest and no one is around to hear her AND she does not blog about it, does she make a sound?
