are they pronounced the same way? In Afrikaans we have a slang word chaffing (pronounced ch-aa-fing the aa like in aardvark) which basically means – are you joking with me? You would say, ‘you are chaffing me, right?’
but i would imagine in this case you are not chaffing (afrikaans style) about your chafing – hope it is better soon xx
