Head in the sand

“30 mins easy”

I have survived my final run before Saturday, so barring a freak accident, I will be toeing the line in Winchester at 6am.  Pre-race nerves have yet to kick in, but that’s mainly because my mind is in full ostrich mode.  Every time I try to think about what I need to do and where I need to be, I zone out and find myself thinking of kittens, or having just one more game of Sudoku, or dreaming up an extreme bit of parkrun tourism for some unspecified parkrunday in the future.

Fortunately my mandatory kit is pretty much assembled, thanks to a number of full kit training runs, and I still have my packing list from Thames Path.  I’ve also got Friday off work.  Fingers crossed, that proves to be enough.

So I might possibly be to blame for some of the kittens… Best of luck anyway. I’ll send a fluffy one to keep you company

Course it’s enough! Run like you’ve waited too long to stroke a kitten! (That is, gently, and with full regard to the magnitude of what awaits. But also an eye on a fluffy future.)
