I came across an article on the BBC website today, entitled “Could you run a marathon without training?”
It said:
Typically, those signing up commit to long periods of meticulous planning, a careful diet and a regimented programme of progressively longer runs.
Memo to self: Buy a time machine. Jump back 16 weeks. Do some meticulous planning, adopt a careful diet and adhere to a regimented programme of progressively longer runs.
It then went on to list the potential dangers of running a marathon, starting with:
Death – Running a marathon or half-marathon can be fatal.
Memo to self. Don’t die.
I’m back to panicking.
Panic not, you’ve just done a 20 miler. With that in your armoury thoughts of glory not death should be assailing you! 🙂
What he said 🙂 You’ll be fine! That article was all a bit nonsense – Jedward did a marathon off no training base – except the bit where they were county level fell runners or something equally impressive in their pre-‘fame’ days
the marathon is just a warm up for TR24! 🙂
